    The José Illueca

    Cargo of 1922 built in Gdansk, it is bought in 1942 by José Illueca armament of Las Palmas. Sunk in 1944 in front of Port-Vendres by British fighters, it now lies 79 meters deep between Caps Peyrefitte and Canadell. Because of its depth, this wreck is only accessible to Trimix Hypoxic divers (diving beyond 70 meters).

Description

  1. From the Peyrefite's beach, the path rises through cork oaks and arrives on a paved trail. Turn left there . The path bypasses the functional rehabilitation center, Just have a look at the airplane (Fouga Magister) in the courtyard of the center. Take the trail about 100 meters on and turn left. The path follows the maritime pines and arrives in the camping area.
  2. Take the path that follows the cliff and goes down to the back of the village Then turn left.
  3. The path follows the cliff and offer a view on the Terrimbau creek. Then it follows the vineyard and the railway and arrives on the D119. Finally turn left and continue going  down until arriving at the beach of Cerbère,
