Criques de Porteils
The largest cove in Argelès, stretching 180 meters, Porteils Cove isn't the easiest to find. Many smaller coves are scattered throughout the area, with access varying depending on the season. Generally, you’ll find peace there, lulled by the waves of turquoise waters.
Description
- At the entrance of the parking lot of the Racou, a sign describes the itinerary. Walk along Racou beach until the end, then exit at the square on your right. Take the small road that goes up on the left.
- You are on the rocky Albères coast. Walk along the cliffs along the landscaped path and observe the viewpoints. After a detour by the orientation table, enjoy the pleasures of sea bathing Porteils’cove is a perfect place to rest.
- Be careful, the coastal path has been closed since 2013 due to a cliff collapse near the campsite of the "Porteils’ creeks". Avoid the coastel past and use the path that will take you back to the Ouille’s creek.
- The stream that runs on your right to the Ouille Beach is called "Ravaner" and serves as a boundary between the towns of Argelès-sur-Mer and Collioure. This is where the trail ends.
