This variant of the cork’s path lead to the Chapel de Vie at the little Chapel of Saint-Jérôme, Romanesque style
Description
- Follow the direction to the campsite "Les Mimosas" to take the road of la Massane. The fast road is on your right. Do not go under the bridge.
- At the next junction, take a left in direction of the Ermitage of Notre-Dame de Vie. Walk through an oak forest until you reach the 2 chapels. Enjoy the panorama of the Roussillon’s plain before coming back down. The stony path is then on your left.
- After a few meters, use the trail DFCI-N°36 which enters the cork oak forest and crosses the prairies of the Mas Torrenaps and Platjatorta.
- At the junction, take the little paved road on the left Be careful, during a few meters , it’s a real wall in front of you. Then take on the trail DFCI n°28 and progressively climb up the mountain. Catch your breath and admire an exceptional panorama on the Mount Canigou, the Roussillon’ plain the Mediterranean Sea.
- Stay on this trail where the forest is home to different essences of oak trees and which is crossed by some steams . At the citern n° 372, go down on the left in direction of Valmy. Pay attention to your speed in this area, hikers and cars pass near the houses.
