The Joël’ledge

The Joël’ ledge is a splendid peak covered with purple gorgonians. Situated further offshore, facing Cerbère, this site allows diving between 20 and 34 meters depth .

An exceptionally beautiful site. Composed of two rocky peaks of similar height, it offers very beautiful drop-offs  covered with red gorgonians. These two peaks are separated from about 30 meters with the southern wall rather vertical and north faces inclined about 45]°. The wildlife is very rich in this area, anchoring is not allowed so as to not destroy the fauna. Only a concrete slab more respectful of the bottom must be sent to the top of the ledge to carry the divers on the site .

The bala dis on an average depth of twenty five meters, the hihgest point is 20 meters and the lowest 32 meters. It’s possible to continue to a deeper zone but there’s no particular interest.

the beautiful corraligenous massifs are full of cavities in which a luxuriant life is developing and in particular many red gorgonians and real rugs of sea roses. Around the red and purple gorgonians, abundant yellow solitary coral buds with pretty lace of Neptune cover the walls. During summer the barracudas are there and turn over the peak. The site is full of life and colors. A must see site !
